Jose Maria Borja Lopez, the Ecuadorean ambassador to China, says Chinese investors in Ecuador are efficient and have met development requirements of the country.

"China will not change its goals submitted to the United Nations, as well as its approaches or stances to implement the Paris Agreement. All three will not be changed by other countries, including the United States."

Xie Zhenhua, China's top climate representative made the comment on Nov 15 after Jonathan Pershing, the United States special envoy, said in Marrakech that he did not know about the future of climate policy under Donald Trump's presidency.
