Beijing-Tibet Expressway

With a total planned length of 3,718 km, the Beijing-Tibet Expressway connects Beijing and Tibet autonomous region. The sections of the expressway from Beijing to Golmud, in Qinghai province, had opened to traffic by 2016. The Golmud-Lhasa section, which runs through permafrost soils on the Tibetan Plateau, remains to be built. [Photo/VCG] |
