No casualties are reported after a magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit Rutog County in Ngari Prefecture in Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region at 12:04 pm Saturday (Beijing Time).
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was monitored at 35.19 degrees north latitude and 81.11 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
"The epicenter is at the sparsely populated area near the border of Ngari and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region," said Ma Chunhong, head of the county publicity department.
A rescue team has been sent to the seismic area.
