Hong Kong sees record high cross-border rail link, bridge passenger traffic


HONG KONG -- Hong Kong saw a record high passenger traffic via the West Kowloon Station of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on Wednesday, data showed on Thursday.
According to the data released by the Immigration Department of the government of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, more than one million visitor arrivals and departures were recorded on Wednesday, with total number of arrivals reaching 515,938 and that of departures 558,422
Around 53,000 arrivals and over 43,000 departures were recorded at the West Kowloon Station, reaching a record high since the station's opening last September.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge also saw its busiest day as around 140,000 arrivals and departures through the bridge were recorded in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
