A woman has been given a three-day administrative detention for hurting a trash-sorting volunteer in Shanghai, local police said on Monday.
The Hongkou district police bureau said on its Sina Weibo account that the 33-year-old woman, surnamed Ye, assaulted volunteer Zhao who stopped her from dumping trash that was not properly sorted on July 4.

A retired cleaner, Zhao served at a residential community in Hongkou district, showing people how to sort their trash.
