Ningxia medical team departs for Hubei

A team made up of 38 medical workers and 10 special vehicles departed from Yinchuan, capital city of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Tuesday for Central China’s Hubei province to aid the fight against the novel coronavirus.
The team was dispatched by the Ningxia branch of the national emergency medical rescue team, which was founded in December 2019.
It is the first time for the team, organized by the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, to receive a major task.
“It is like a special squad that carries its own supplies,” said Chen Zhongwei, deputy director of the team. “No matter how difficult, the team can race to the front line and carry out rescue as long as there is an open space.”
“The vehicles with medical facilities, protective supplies and medical aid materials can be transformed into a small hospital,” he said. “It can self-sustain for a week, even without material support."
