EuroVolley 2021's new calendar schedules nearest events in August

LUXEMBOURG - The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has released a tentative calendar for the EuroVolley 2021 qualifiers here on Monday, the nearest events are scheduled in late August.
In a major deviation in the competition format, home and away matches in each pool have all been replaced by the tournament model in some appointed countries in order to avoid extensive traveling for teams and officials.
However, the seven competition pools still remain unchanged.
According to the new calendar, the nearest tournaments will take place in late August if the conditions allow, which are women's Pool F in Latvia and Men's Pool D in Cyprus. But most tournaments are still delayed until early January 2021.
The women's Pool F includes national teams from Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Latvia, while the Men's Pool D is assembled by Spain, Latvia, Republic of Moldova, and Cyprus.
A total of 12 teams per gender will qualify from those double round-robin tournaments to the EuroVolley Final Rounds scheduled for the late summer of next year.
These 12 teams will join the four organizers and another eight teams already qualified as per the final standing of the 2019 edition.
