A train loaded with 100 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of goods departed the city of Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province for Malaszewicze, Poland on Feb 3.
It was the second trip by the China-Europe freight train for the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone since October 2021. It was carrying LCD panels worth $4 million.
On Jan 24, a train loaded with 100 TEUs of goods departed Suzhou for Milan, Italy, marking the first China-Europe freight train linking the two cities.
The exported goods included auto parts and cooking utensils manufactured in Jiangsu and worth about $3.73 million.
According to Suzhou Customs, 406 China-Europe freight trains departed from the city in 2021, up 38.12 percent year-on-year. The total value of transported goods stood at about $2.25 billion, up 66.52 percent.
Suzhou has opened eight China-Europe freight train routes to Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe since 2013, covering more than 80 cities.
Officials have said that the China-Europe freight train routes are expected to further promote business and trade between Suzhou and countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and promote the continuous optimization of the regional business environment.
