O'Sullivan cruises into snooker Masters quarters

LONDON - World No 1 Ronnie O'Sullivan outplayed Belgium's Luca Brecel 6-1 to cruise into the quarterfinals of snooker's Masters on Monday.
"I gave everything 100 percent today, played my game and hoped to get a result," O'Sullivan was quoted as saying by the World Snooker Tour website. "It is never guaranteed but it went my way today."
The 47-year-old will now play the winner between Mark Williams and David Gilbert.
Later on Monday, veteran John Higgins was knocked out of the invitational tournament by Jack Lisowski.
31-year-old Lisowski had failed in the first round in his previous three appearances at the Masters, but defeated Higgins 6-3 this time to set up a quarterfinal clash with Iranian debutant Hossein Vafaei, who had stunned world No 2 Mark Selby 6-2 on Sunday.
