Senior political adviser Yang Xiaowei under investigation

Yang Xiaowei, a senior political adviser, is being investigated for suspected severe violations of Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Thursday.
The announcement of the investigation has been disclosed online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, with no further details about the allegations provided.
Public information shows that Yang serves as deputy head of the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports with the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body.
Yang, 61, a native of Chongqing, joined the Party in December 1984. He worked for the country's telecommunication system for three decades and went to the Cyberspace Administration of China and the National Radio and Television Administration to serve in important positions.
In 2023, he began working for the 14th National Committee of CPPCC.
