Unique industries to boost rural vitalization
Chinese agricultural areas are boosting their unique industries to spur rural vitalization. In Southwest China's Guizhou province, farmers in Sanyuan village in Wuma, under the city of Renhuai, joined a 20-hectare mandarin orange orchard to lift their incomes. Orchard manager Xiao Wencai said that since 2018, the base paid some 1 million yuan ($140,850) each year to the farmers working on it. This year, Sanyuan expects 50,000 kilograms of the citrus worth over 1.5 million yuan. Sanyuan has built a system integrating fruit cultivation, cold storage and tourism to promote rural vitalization.
