Jinan SkyShuttle train begins on-load trial operations
The SkyShuttle system in the Jinan Innovation Zone in eastern Jinan began its three-month no-load trial operations on Aug 7. It is scheduled to open for the public in early December.
The Jinan SkyShuttle is designed as an intelligent, green and efficient urban transit solution and is expected to ease congestion in the eastern part of Jinan and improve commuting efficiency for residents and employees.
The system operates completely automatically and has strong anti-skid, anti-rollover, and wind-resistant capabilities to ensure safety.
The SkyShuttle line is the first of its kind in Jinan. It adopts a circular route connecting the Jinan Innovation Zone and Licheng district, with a total length of approximately 30.7 kilometers.
The elevated track includes 32 stations, five of which serve as transfer hubs. Once completed, the line will offer connections to Metro Lines 2, 4 and 8, greatly improving public transportation in the eastern part of Jinan.
