?Jinan-made robot wins 100m at World Humanoid Robot Games
The "Xingzhe Taishan", a humanoid robot developed by Jinan-based Shandong Youbaote Intelligent Robotics Company, took first place in the 100-meter exhibition race during the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games on Aug 14.
The event, held at the National Speed Skating Oval in Beijing, is the world's first of its kind, featuring humanoid robots as participants. Nearly 280 teams from 16 countries and regions are competing in 487 matches across 26 events over the course of three days.
The competition features exhibition, competitive, and scenario events to test robots' coordination, speed, adaptability, precision, and intelligence in practical applications.
The robots from the Jinan team are scheduled to compete in the 100m, 400m and 1,500m races, the 4×100m relay, and the 100m obstacle race.
The "Xingzhe Taishan" humanoid robot, developed in 2024, can now run steadily at 7.2 kilometers per hour, making it one of the fastest robots in China.
On June 18, it became the first humanoid robot to climb Taishan Mountain in Shandong, demonstrating exceptional athletic performance and adaptability to complex terrains. It is capable of climbing steps up to 25 centimeters high and reaching a top speed of 4 meters per second.
