Electricity bureaus ensure safe, reliable supply as schools gear up for new semester

With the new semester about to start, power supply bureaus in Xihua and Shenqiu counties, Zhoukou city, launched advanced deployments, dispatching teams to primary and secondary schools to conduct safety inspections, equipment maintenance and other volunteer services, ensuring a secure and reliable electricity environment for students and teachers.
Xihua county: Risk mitigation for classroom power
On August 25, Xihua County Power Supply Bureau sent technicians to the county's No 1 Senior High School for a full "health check-up" of power lines, distribution cabinets, air-conditioning and other critical equipment in classrooms, dormitories and canteens. In senior grade 1, class 5, the crew identified a loose socket feeding the multimedia teaching equipment and immediately replaced it and re-secured the wiring. "With the new term days away, your on-site inspection gives us peace of mind for lesson preparation and teaching," said the school's logistics director.
The team also performed infrared thermography on the campus substation, logged detailed operating parameters, and drew up on-the-spot rectification plans for three instances of ageing wiring and two loose breaker terminals. Working with school staff members, they completed all remedial work before classes resume, guaranteeing stable power for teaching activities.
Shenqiu county: Tailored service warms the campus
The same day, Shenqiu County Power Supply Bureau visited Huaidian Town Primary School for a "Safe Electricity Enters the Campus" campaign. The school's newly built STEM laboratory had added 3-D printers, smart robots and other equipment, straining the existing circuit capacity. After assessing the load, the utility devised an upgrade package and, within 48 hours, finished line reconstruction and capacity expansion, fully meeting the laboratory's power requirements. "Thanks to the utility's swift, professional service, our new lab can be put into use on schedule," praised the principal.
To date, the two power-supply bureaus have completed electrical inspections at 42 primary and secondary schools, eliminated 67 safety hazards and replaced 1.2 km of ageing conductors, forging a robust power safeguard for the new term. Going forward, local utilities will maintain continuous monitoring of campus electricity use and provide 24-hour emergency response to ensure uninterrupted teaching and learning.
