Shandong kicks off public digital heritage preservation campaign

Print PrintThe "Digital Heritage Preservation for All" campaign kicked off at Shandong Museum on Aug 29, inviting the public to participate in protecting cultural treasures through a fun, interactive digital experience.
The initiative is part of Shandong's efforts to integrate technology, heritage, and public welfare, and 22 museums across the province are participating to engage the public through interactive digital tools.
The campaign runs from Aug 29 to Oct 20, during which visitors can take photos of the relics, upload them online by scanning the activity QR codes, and collect "little red flowers" to contributing the digital resources of museums.
The event is part of Tencent's "99 Charity Festival", which will match public participation with resources to support digital preservation.
The event also saw the launch of the Shandong Digital Heritage Practice Base and the establishment of the Digital Heritage Guardians team, recruiting volunteers to further engage the public in cultural heritage protection.
