The recent activities of CNS Fujian, China's third aircraft carrier, were "completely in line with China's domestic law and international law", Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Friday.
Lin made the remarks at a regular news briefing after the People's Liberation Army Navy said the Fujian has sailed through the Taiwan Strait and into the South China Sea to carry out scientific research and training tasks.
"The cross-region experiment and training is a normal arrangement made during the construction of the aircraft carrier, and is not aimed at any specific target," Lin said.
