Young audiences engage with contemporary art

A public art program featuring salon discussions, guided exhibition tours and group sketching was held on Sunday at the Song Art Museum in Beijing, giving younger audiences an immersive encounter with art and encouraging them to become co-creators.
The event coincided with the opening of The Reader, the Writer, on Saturday which explores the artistic evolution of noted contemporary artist Zhang Xiaogang. Curated by Cui Cancan, the exhibition runs through Dec 4 and showcases nearly 400 works made since 1975.
