Premier Li Qiang to attend general debate of 80th session of UN General Assembly

Premier Li Qiang will attend the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from Monday to Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian has announced.
While in New York, Li will also attend events held by China, including the high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative, and meet with the UN Secretary-General and leaders of relevant countries.
Li will elaborate China's views on the current international landscape, major global issues, and the work of the UN, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at Friday's press briefing.
The Chinese premier is also expected to expound on China's domestic and foreign policies, as well as the Global Governance Initiative.
Lin said that China is ready to use this visit as an opportunity to work with all parties to revisit the founding mission of the UN, reaffirm commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and help revitalize the world body's authority in the new era.
