Be the light of peace

Editor's note: This work is adapted from the story of French doctor Jean Jerome Augustin Bussiere, who transported precious medicines from Beijing to support Chinese soldiers during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45). It is also dedicated to honoring all the nations, peoples, and international organizations around the world that, during those years of war and turmoil, offered China their invaluable support in the cause of peace and justice.
More than 80 years ago, as war engulfed China, many international friends stood side by side with the Chinese people, uniting the strength of peace and justice to ultimately defeat the Japanese invasion.
They were doctors, journalists, diplomats, soldiers… as well as symbols of the global fight against fascism.
They forged lasting bonds with the Chinese people. Their stories, like an undying light, continue to shine into the future.
Be the light, for the future.
