China's drive to build a modernized industrial system has resulted in the economic growth of Hungary and Europe, while contributing significantly to global efforts in addressing climate change, European scholars said.

The scholars, members of a Hungarian think tank delegation to Sichuan province, made the remarks during a research tour of pharmaceutical and new energy industrial projects in Chengdu, Sichuan's capital, from Friday to Saturday.

Eric Cornelis Hendriks, a Dutch sociologist and visiting fellow at the Danube Institute, said he was impressed by China's advanced industrial development while visiting the Chengdu B&M Science and Technology Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Huayou Cobalt.

Hendriks showed particular interest in a high-nickel ternary cathode material green manufacturing project invested in by Huayou Cobalt in Hungary. The project is currently under construction and is expected to be operational next year.
