Intuitive executive confident in potential for growth in China
The China International Import Expo serves as an important platform for China's high-level opening-up, while also offering participating companies — including medical device provider Intuitive — a key opportunity to benefit from China's high-quality economic growth, Glenn Vavoso, the company's senior vice-president, said.
Premier Li Qiang's opening statements on the certainty of development and opening further boosted confidence in China's commitment to high-quality development and high-level opening-up, Vavoso said on Wednesday after the opening ceremony of the six-day expo, which is in its eighth year.
"This is our eighth consecutive year at the CIIE," Vavoso told China Daily. "We are encouraged and inspired by [Premier Li's] remarks. It further strengthened our confidence in the long-term growth in China."
"The CIIE stands out as a bridge connecting global resources," Vavoso said. "[It's] a showcase where the world's leading technologies converge, and, equally important, it serves as a catalyst accelerating the application of global innovations."
"China is a key strategic market for companies like Intuitive," Vavoso added. "We have strong confidence in our prospects, driven by the nation's potential for high-quality growth, the resilience of its economy, and the momentum of its innovation."
In June of last year, the Intuitive Fosun headquarters opened in Pudong New Area in Shanghai. The headquarters, with a total investment of 700 million yuan ($98.2 million), is Intuitive's largest integrated base for manufacturing, R&D, training, and service in the Asia Pacific region.
