Some 9,000 local primary and 
secondary students attended a mass drum rally rehearsal Sunday, preparing for a 
musical performance in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment 
of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). 
The "Dragon Jamboree", a performance featuring 10,000 youngsters from the 
Mainland, Taiwan, Macao and Hong Kong will be held on June 30 at the Hong Kong 
Coliseum which is expected to set a new Guinness world record. 
The themes of the show are "Dragon", "Music", "Drums" and " Dance" featuring 
a wide variety of performances including drum rally with 10,000 drummers, dragon 
dance by youngsters, 10-piano ensemble by young music talents, mass singing, 
dance medley of the traditional and the popular, as well as a showcase of pop 
stars. Besides, 100 children born on June 1 of 1997, the day of the 
establishment of HKSAR, will be participating in the "Happy Birthday" 
session.
