BEIJING  -- Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun visited the Erwang Temple and the ancient water irrigation works in the quake-hit Dujiangyan, southwestern China's Sichuan Province, to observe the damages of relics on Tuesday morning.

Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, inspected the Erwang Temple, or "Temple of Two Kings". It was built 2,000 years ago to honor Li Bing, the then governor of Sichuan, and his son for their contribution to the construction of Dujiangyan, the world's oldest irrigation project. The temple collapsed in the quake.

He also checked the damages of the Fishmouth and two Jingang dams of the Dujiangyan Project.
