By Hu Yongqi | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2016-12-15 09:03

Premier Li Keqiang extended his condolences on Tuesday in a telegraph to his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim following the recent bomb blasts in Istanbul.

The premier sent his condolences to the Turkish prime minister, the victims' families and the injured.

A twin bomb attack on Saturday night outside a football stadium in Istanbul, Turkey's biggest city, killed more than 40 people and left over 160 injured.

The British newspaper The Guardian reported that the Turkish government has vowed to avenge the attack.
