judge has ordered Sony Corp. to pay $90.7 million to a company that
develops technology that enhances video game realism but immediately
stayed an order that would halt U.S. sales of Sony's popular PlayStation
consoles.
San Jose-based Immersion Corp. sued Sony in 2002, saying the Japanese
company violated two of its patents, using them to create tactile feedback
features.
A federal jury in Oakland decided in favor of Immersion in September
and ordered Sony to pay $82 million in damages.

據(jù)悉,2002年,一家美國科技公司Immersion控告索尼侵犯版權(quán),在感應(yīng)技術(shù)方面了盜用了該公司的兩項專利。加州一家法庭去年判決索尼賠償8200美元,索尼上訴后美國聯(lián)邦法院維持原判,但包括相關(guān)的利息,罰款由原先的8200美元增加到9070美元,這比Immersion公司去年營業(yè)額2380萬美元高三倍。
