國(guó)際青年日是全世界革命青年反帝國(guó)主義、反軍國(guó)主義、反世界大戰(zhàn)的紀(jì)念日。1999年12月17日，在第54/120號(hào)決議中，聯(lián)合國(guó)大會(huì)贊同主管青年事物部長(zhǎng)世界會(huì)議提出的建議，決定將每年的8月12日定為“國(guó)際青年日”，大會(huì)還建議組織宣傳活動(dòng)支持青年日，提高人們對(duì)大會(huì)1995年通過(guò)的《到2000年及其后世界青年行動(dòng)綱領(lǐng)》的認(rèn)識(shí)。

國(guó)際青年日為爭(zhēng)取多方面支持和重要行為人的參與提供一個(gè)絕佳的機(jī)會(huì)。各國(guó)政府、非政府組織、學(xué)術(shù)機(jī)構(gòu)、工商界以及青年將攜手合作，回顧過(guò)去取得的成績(jī)，使世界青年行動(dòng)綱領(lǐng)發(fā)揮更大作用。

Prime Minister Trudeau: Hello, everyone! Happy International Youth Day!

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau: Today, we celebrate young people – your power, your potential and your dreams.

Prime Minister Trudeau: Everywhere we go, we meet young people who are following their passions and making a difference in the world. You’re constantly finding creative new ways to serve your communities and you bring energy and drive to tackle the greatest challenges we face: from climate change, to making gender equality a reality, to building a more just and inclusive world.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau: You are all leaders in your own right. So, as you make your way through this world, make sure you listen to your intuition, your inner voice and your heart. Pay attention to what matters most to you, what lights you up, and question the people, the TV shows, the social media commentaries – whatever it is that hurts you or makes you doubt your own self-worth. Prime Minister Trudeau: How do you see yourself making positive change? What’s your vision for your community and our world? We want to make sure you have the tools you need to make a difference where it matters to you.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau: We also know that being young isn’t easy. We’ve been there, right? It’s so important to take care of yourself. You know, when I told my story, I felt vulnerable. But it was part of my road to recovery. So, be vulnerable. Be real. Share your stories and your struggles because you could save yourself or someone else in the process.

Prime Minister Trudeau: Thank you, from Sophie and me, for everything you do to bring positive change to our world. We’re in this together and finding our ways of making a difference. So, support each other, be bold and dream big.
