英國政府在網(wǎng)上推出了計算離婚成本的“離婚計算器”，有人擔心這會導致離婚率提高。
文中的divorce calculator就是指“離婚計算器”，由英國消費者金融教育機構(gòu)推出，初衷是幫助那些婚姻生活面臨破碎的夫妻估算成本、清查債務(wù)?，F(xiàn)在網(wǎng)絡(luò)上出現(xiàn)了多種類似的online gadget（網(wǎng)絡(luò)小工具），比如貸款計算器等等。據(jù)悉，這款計算器同樣適用于cohabiting couples（同居伴侶）以及civil partnerships（民事伴侶關(guān)系）。如今選擇黃昏散的白發(fā)伉儷日益增多，這一現(xiàn)象被人稱為late-life divorce（熟年離婚）。
為了防止離婚時出現(xiàn)糾紛，很多年輕人選擇在結(jié)婚前簽訂prenuptial agreement（婚前協(xié)議）。不少選擇“和平分手”的夫妻會簽訂divorce settlement（離婚協(xié)議書），規(guī)定好有關(guān)division of property（財產(chǎn)分割）、custody and visitation of children（子女監(jiān)護與探視）、spousal support（配偶贍養(yǎng)費）以及child support（子女撫養(yǎng)費）等問題。
