 一帆風(fēng)順/一路薔薇 roses all the way

這兩年時(shí)不時(shí)就會(huì)聽(tīng)到某大學(xué)有學(xué)生跳樓的新聞，究其原因無(wú)非是在校園生活中遇到點(diǎn)不如意的事情，不知如何應(yīng)對(duì)，一時(shí)想不開(kāi)便尋了短見(jiàn)。難道他們沒(méi)有聽(tīng)過(guò)“人生不如意十之八九”這句古訓(xùn)嗎？Life is not roses all the way.
看到花，大家想到的大多都是美好的場(chǎng)景，如果看到一條路的兩邊全部開(kāi)滿了玫瑰花，那應(yīng)該是人人都會(huì)向往經(jīng)過(guò)的一條路吧。roses all the way這個(gè)表達(dá)據(jù)說(shuō)是來(lái)源于英國(guó)詩(shī)人白朗寧(Robert Browning,1812-1889)寫過(guò)的一首詩(shī):
It was roses, roses all the way
行來(lái)一路薔薇笑
With myrtle(桃金娘) mixed in my path like mad.
爛漫金娘爛漫狂
白朗寧這兩行詩(shī)被人們廣為傳播，以致后來(lái)，人們就用roses all the way來(lái)比喻一帆風(fēng)順或一切順利。
例如：
After quitting his job, he got to know that life was not roses all the way.
辭職以后他才體會(huì)到人生并不是康莊大道。
