China will scrap domestic data-roaming charges from July 1, as the country steps up efforts to offer more affordable telecom services, said the ministry of industry and information technology on Tuesday.
The move is part of China's broader push to implement faster internet connectivity and improve services for companies to help boost industrial upgrading and nurture new economic drivers.
China scrapped domestic roaming fees for long-distance calls last year as telecom operators turn to mobile Internet services for business growth.
