Xi's speech at CIIE draws positive reactions

Eric Rondolat, CEO and chairman of Signify
Over the past year or so, doing business in the world has become more complicated. And it's great to see an event like the CIIE that talks about globalization, win-win situations between nations through innovation and trade. So it's very refreshing and very necessary at this point in time and I think it is a great initiative.
I am very impressed that if you go into the area we are in now, you see so much innovation. I've been to many fairs in China, but here it's just amazing to see the kinds of innovation companies are bringing in. It means it is understood the Chinese economy is not just about manufacturing and exports. It is also about importing goods from many countries from the world, and (enhancing) exchanges with other countries. So I believe this is an exceptional message. Innovation and trade go together, they don't go against each other.
