Chen Shulan, a 75-year-old woman, donated more than 25,000 yuan to a local hospital in Liaoning province's Benxi for medical supplies amid the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Known as the "popcorn nanny", Chen has engaged in the popcorn business for nearly a half-century and managed to save 25,000 yuan bit by bit.
Besides the donation, Chen also encouraged her son to work for Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak, as a volunteer doctor.
She said to her son, "I hope we can do something to help our country. Let's buy whatever the hospital needs."
