Close contacts of new COVID-19 cases in Shanghai test negative

All 185 close contacts of the two locally transmitted COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai on Thursday tested negative as of 8 am on Friday, according to the local health authority.
These 185 individuals have been placed under quarantine after the two cases - a mother aged 74 and her daughter aged 44 - tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
In addition, the 464 secondary close contacts and 35,207 relevant individuals have been placed under quarantine. Their test results have also returned negative.
Of the 1,616 environmental samples taken, only the seven that were taken from the home of the two cases in Pudong New Area returned positive.
