Shanghai reports one new locally transmitted COVID-19 case

Shanghai on Wednesday added one locally transmitted COVID-19 case, the municipal government announced on Thursday.
The latest case is a woman who came into close contact with a previous case reported on Monday - a 29-year-old man who works at the cargo area of Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The woman tested positive during hotel quarantine.
The 30 individuals who came into close contact with the woman have been tracked down and quarantined.
The Shanghai government announced that it has through gene sequencing determined that the man has the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
