Xi meets Egyptian president, calls for building China-Egypt community with shared future


BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday met with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi in Beijing, calling for joint efforts to build the China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era.
Xi said that China and Egypt have further consolidated political mutual trust and achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation with highlights in joint fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership has become a model of solidarity, cooperation and mutual benefit between China and Arab, African and developing countries, Xi said.
Xi stressed that the two sides should deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and continue to dovetail the Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt's Vision 2030, as well as advance projects such as the development of the Suez Canal Corridor.
