Global unity key to tackling big issues, China's foreign minister says

Foreign Minister Qin Gang underlined the importance for the international community to get united for cooperation as he took questions at a press conference on Tuesday during the first session of the 14th National People's Congress, China's top legislature.
"With solidarity and cooperation, we can defeat COVID-19, address climate change, tackle the deficit in peace, development, security and governance," he said.
He noted that the core message of a series of initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping over the past decade is that countries are interdependent and mankind has a shared future.
"Yet the path to global governance is far from smooth. China will keep in mind the interests of the world, take an active part in global governance and contribute more to world peace and development and to human progress," Qin said.
