PLA cautions US side to stop distortions and hype

The Chinese People's Liberation Army monitored a United States military aircraft which transited the Taiwan Strait on Tuesday, a military spokesman said.
Cao Jun, spokesman of the PLA Eastern Theater Command's Air Force, said in a statement that a US P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft transited the Taiwan Strait on Tuesday and publicly hyped the passage.
The theater command mobilized naval and air forces to monitor and remain vigilant throughout the US aircraft's transit, effectively responding and handling the situation, the spokesman said.
Related remarks from the US side distorted legal principles, confused public opinion and misled international perception, Cao said, urging the US to stop its distortions and hype, and to jointly maintain regional peace and stability.
