Philippine military chief dodges questions

During this year's Shangri-La Dialogue, we met the Philippines' Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Romeo Brawner, and asked about their recent provocations in the South China Sea. He dodged the question.
When we pressed him on the Philippines' next move at Tiexian Reef — where they've been sending people to occupy unmanned islands, breaching the DOC — the delegation waved us off and walked away.
Philippine officials have consistently refused to answer questions from Chinese journalists since tensions escalated in the South China Sea.
