29th Shandong-Taiwan Economic and Trade Fair to facilitate cross-Strait talent recognition

The 29th Shandong-Taiwan Economic and Trade Fair will be held from Sept 1 to 4 in Shandong province, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial Government and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the main event will take place in Weifang, with additional sessions in Jinan and Dezhou.
In Weifang, the program will include a conference on cross-Strait technological innovation and industrial integration, along with six specialized events focusing on sectors such as modern agriculture, high-end chemical manufacturing, healthcare and elderly care. Jinan and Dezhou will host sessions on industrial partnership zones and economic trade exchanges.
During the fair, a center will be launched to facilitate the recognition and conversion of vocational certificates from Taiwan to mainland equivalents, allowing professionals from Taiwan to work in related fields with equal treatment regarding salary, talent recognition, and career advancement.
The center will also provide comprehensive support, including skills training, employment matching, entrepreneurship guidance, and policy consulting for Taiwan professionals working in Shandong.
Additionally, the event will feature a youth innovation camp offering interactive experiences and discussions on topics like e-commerce, short-video production and virtual reality.
