People's Daily conducted a survey on the Internet about how to strictly manage officials and received more than 4,000 valid responses.
近日，《人民日報》在網(wǎng)上進行了一項關(guān)于如何進行從嚴治吏的調(diào)查，收到讀者4000多份有效回復。

The results show that more than half of the respondents believe the most important thing the authorities should address is the working style of government officials.
調(diào)查結(jié)果顯示，超半數(shù)受訪者認為，從嚴治吏，最應治理干部“作風不正”。

調(diào)查還顯示，近半受訪者認為，某些官員腐敗(corrupt)，對工作不負責任(irresponsible in their work)。而關(guān)于如何“治吏”(manage the officials)的問題，約2/3的受訪者認為，政府應從“從嚴監(jiān)督”(strengthen their supervision)和“從嚴選拔”(be stricter in selecting officials)兩個層面入手。而超1/3受訪者要求政府建立更好的問責機制(a better accountability system)。

About two-thirds of the interviewees think "listening to the public" and "guaranteeing the transparent and open exercising of power" would be conducive to managing officials strictly.
約2/3受訪者認為“傾聽群眾聲音”和“權(quán)力運行公開、透明”有利于從嚴治吏。
