The 2025 International Youth Poetry Festival—Special Session for China-Latin American Countries kicked off in Xi’an, capital of Northwest China’s Shaanxi province, on Sept 15. The event gathered 37 young Chinese poets and 40 young poets from 15 Latin American and Caribbean countries.
In an interview, Brazilian poet Ricardo Domeneck highlighted that Chinese poetry values attention to detail and emphasizes the harmony between humans and nature—an idea worth learning in today’s era, where humans often view themselves as separate from nature. He also expressed his support for the BRICS, noting that China and Brazil should not only maintain commercial exchanges but also strengthen cultural bridges.
